POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Senior Architect/Engineer (CM-SA/E) to lead medical facility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in design, construction management, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and ensure successful project delivery.

REQUIRED:

  • Must be a United States citizen and eligible to work on federally funded projects.
  • Must be eligible and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (i.e., pass a federal background check), as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in architectural and engineering design and construction. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. 
  • Proven expertise in reviewing and interpreting construction contract Documents, including specifications and drawings.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, engineering coordination, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Effective leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITES: 
  • Lead and support project planning activities, including site studies, market analysis, surveys, budgeting, cost estimation, schedule development, and cost control.

  • Participate in value engineering workshops and evaluate proposals to identify cost-effective design alternatives.

  • Conduct constructability and phasing reviews to ensure project designs align with VA standards, minimize operational disruptions, and support facility coordination on issues such as utilities, safety, and access.

  • Monitor project progress by maintaining daily activity logs, tracking schedules, identifying delays, and recommending corrective actions in coordination with the Resident Engineer.

  • Facilitate and document regular project meetings, assist with contractor payment processing, and help resolve construction-related issues through detailed recordkeeping and stakeholder coordination.

  • Perform site inspections to identify and track non-conforming work, manage RFIs and submittals, support change order processes, maintain as-built documentation, and assist with VA equipment coordination and relocation planning.

  • Oversee third-party testing and inspection services for quality assurance across materials and systems such as soils, concrete, structural steel, fireproofing, roofing, and elevators.

COMPENSATION:
