POSITION OVERVIEW

SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a skilled Construction Administrator (CM-CA) to support infrastructure upgrades at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital as part of the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative. The Construction Administrator will oversee construction quality, schedule, compliance, and documentation, working closely with contractors and project stakeholders. This full-time role involves hands-on site management and plays a vital part in ensuring the successful delivery of federal healthcare infrastructure improvements.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices related to Quality Assurance, Safety, Scheduling, Cost Control, Change Management, and Information Management.
  • Familiarity with day-to-day site operations of general contractors and subcontractors, including coordination and workflow oversight.
  • Hands-on experience monitoring construction progress for quality and compliance, identifying and documenting deficiencies, interpreting construction documents, and assessing progress against baseline schedules.
  • Ability to present three (3) similar projects where the candidate served in a comparable role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated proficiency in construction management software for documentation, reporting, and data tracking (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project, or similar).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage cost accounting records, prepare and review change order cost estimates and proposals, and assist in change order documentation.
  • Conduct or attend weekly or bi-weekly progress meetings to manage and organize project documentation such as construction reports, correspondence, and other relevant records.
  • Maintain thorough records of project occurrences and contracts to support issue resolution and conflict management
  • Schedule and document regular progress meetings to review status and address problems.
  • Perform additional construction-related administrative tasks such as managing submittal reviews, reviewing and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), maintaining daily activity logs, coordinating owner-supplied equipment, and other duties as assigned by the VA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • EHRM project experience.
  • Telecommunications, data, network, and fiber optics project experience.
  • Interior and exterior construction projects.
  • Experience with Submittal Exchange or other file sharing software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams for meetings.
  • List of estimating software experience.
