Position Overview: 
The Senior Healthcare Subject Matter Expert will lead healthcare-related projects with a focus on health informatics within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role involves guiding analysis sessions to define user requirements, providing expertise in VA clinical data reconciliation from various sources, and working with clinical data exchange formats such as FHIR, Blue Button, and CCDA. The expert will manage and analyze Electronic Health Record (EHR) medical data, utilize coding systems like CPT and ICD, and ensure accurate data management within the VA Health Data Repository (HDR) and the VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of health informatics to support effective healthcare data integration and project success.

• Master’s degree or higher in health informatics or equivalent discipline in health information management 
• 15+ years of experience with Health care informatics Projects 
• Project experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
• 1+ years experience with leading subject matter expertise to support Health care related projects, guides analysis sessions to define user requirements, and assists and advises project team members.  
• 1+ years experience in VA clinical data reconciliation (ontologies, taxonomies, semantics, etc.) from disparate sources, as well as clinical data exchange formats such as Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), Blue Button, and Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (CCDA) 
• 1+ years experience with Electronic Health Record Medical Data and VASRD 
• 1+ years experience with VA Health Data Repository (HDR) 
• 1+ years experience VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure 
• 1+ years experience with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Coding 
• 1+ years experience with International Classification of Diseases (ICD) Coding
