Position Overview: SteerBridge Strategies, LLC is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our team on the Modern Claims Processing (MCP) program for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). This program is designed to modernize and transform the claims processing system, leveraging advanced automation and analytics to streamline administrative tasks and ensure faster, more accurate decisions for veterans' benefits claims. The Program Manager will oversee all aspects of the project, providing strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring the successful execution of automation services that will improve claim processing time and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the MCP program to assist VBA in modernizing claims processing through automation, improving efficiency, and delivering better outcomes for veterans.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of secure, interoperable systems aimed at automating administrative tasks and workflows.
  • Partner with the Veterans Affairs Office of Information Technology (OIT) to continuously enhance claims processing systems with user-driven improvements.
  • Provide business process improvement services by automating workflows to reduce processing time and improve data accuracy, with a focus on Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), Automated Data Ingestion (ADI), and Automated Decision Support (ADS).
  • Ensure quality outcomes through evidence-based decision-making, management best practices, and resource efficiency.
  • Manage the mapping of medical data to VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD) criteria, facilitating faster and more accurate claim decisions.
  • Prototype and operationalize automation services as proofs of concept for national deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including senior-level management, subject matter experts, and business partners, to align on program goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of project management experience, with significant expertise in managing large, complex government system implementation projects.
  • Experience managing projects within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is essential.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Proficiency in working with government healthcare data and leveraging it for process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing project scope, cost, budget, and risk across large-scale projects.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with senior management, stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Experience overseeing multiple interrelated project tasks and directing complex contract operations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) data, particularly regarding hospitalization reporting and claims processing.
  • Experience in developing automated solutions for large federal organizations, especially in the health or benefits sectors.
