Position: AI/ML Database Administrator

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a AI/ML Database Administrator (DBA) for our AI/ML Spares Project. Our team is dedicated to harnessing the power of AI/ML to increase parts availability and reduce maintenance wait times, ultimately maximizing aircraft availability. In collaboration with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), we are on a mission to deliver exceptional solutions that will redefine operational readiness for the aerospace program. 

In this role, you’ll manage and optimize databases supporting our aircraft AI/ML initiatives. You will enhance data entry, management, and extraction processes, ensuring the systems we rely on run smoothly. You’ll be working side by side with Marines at the squadron level, mentoring them on data practices and ensuring that everything from data entry to advanced indexing meets the highest standards. You will also serve as the critical link between data systems and our AI/ML efforts, providing a foundation for optimized aircraft maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administering and optimizing large-scale databases in both private data centers and cloud environments (AWS, Oracle, Azure, Google)
• Monitoring and troubleshooting database transactions, logs, and events to ensure seamless operations
• Leading the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows, supporting AI/ML spares predictions
• Managing SQL servers and maintaining databases, ensuring data is organized and accessible for advanced analysis
• Collaborating with partners and squadron teams to acquire, clean, and load new datasets, supporting real-time data access
• Automating processes and data workflows using Python and other scripting languages

 

• US Citizen
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or have 6 years of relevant experience
• An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required
• You have 3+ years of experience in database management, working with analytics tools
• You are proficient in SQL, Python, and have experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google
• You have experience with APIs and data pipelines in cloud environments

PREFERRED 

• AWS Professional or Specialty Certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Three (3) years of experience managing data and leveraging analytic tools. 
• You have experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Veterans Affairs (VA) missions.
• You have hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies and cloud-based data solutions.
• You are skilled in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Elasticsearch.
